Dermatology is the science that is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair and nails.

In that regard, Cibolo Creek Dermatology Group offers treatment for:

Acne
A skin condition that occurs when hair follicles plug with oil and dead skin cells. Even though this mostly occurs with teen-age skin, adults sometimes suffer from this malady. Dr. McCrary will treat the affected area with care and gentle exfoliation or creams and offer remedies to assist with clearing up the skin. She will offer valuable advice on how to manage the care of your skin after the visit.
Molluscum
A curable viral skin infection that results in round painless lesions with dimple in the center. Even though this infection is contagious in that it can spread, Dr. McCrary has the expertise to treat the skin with the most effective treatments available. She will also offer suggestion on how to avoid future breakouts.
Warts
A small, fleshy bump on the skin or mucous membrane caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Dr. McCrary’s experience and expertise in treating this virus internally and excising the bump externally makes the treatment as painless as possible with excellent results.
Rashes
A chronic condition that makes skin red and itchy. Though there are many reasons for rashes, from food allergies to poison ivy to a chronic condition, Dr. McCrary offers careful treatment to alleviate the itchiness and redness. She will also advise an ongoing treatment plan for chronic rashes.
Skin Cancer
The abnormal growth of skin cells. As a surgeon, Dr. McCrary can remove, diagnose and treat most forms of skin cancer. She offers empathy and patience in dealing with the feelings associated with the discovery of the disease. She will discuss in detail the diagnosis and treatment plan so that you and your family can be assured of the best possible care.
Infections
A disease caused by microorganisms that invade tissue. Since most skin and tissue infections are caused by internal or external sources, treatment must be handled with care to ensure complete eradication of the organism. Dr. McCrary’s expertise guarantees a diagnosis and treatment that will help you fully recover from the infection. She will advise how to prevent future infections.
Eczema
An itchy inflammation of the skin. In most cases, this ailment can be treated with injections, oral medications, cleansers and creams. Dr. McCrary will help you cure the inflammation whether on the skin or scalp. Once treatment is initiated, you will feel better and itchiness will lessen.
Psoriasis
Build up of skin cells that form scales and itchy, dry patches which is treatable but incurable. Though psoriasis cannot be cured, Dr. McCrary will assist you in being as comfortable as possible with treatments to relieve much of the distressed areas of the skin. She will see that the ongoing treatment is extensive and painless so that you feel better about the appearance of your arms and legs and other exposed areas of your body.
Hyperpigmentation
A common, usually harmless, condition in which patches of skin become darker in color than the normal surrounding skin. Although there are treatments such as bleaching and extensive exfoliation of darker skin area, Dr. McCrary will explain additional treatments or hints to minimize the darker areas. You will feel better about the way your skin looks and feels.
Actinic Keratosis
A rough, scaly patch on the skin that is caused by years of sun exposure. At times these patches can manifest into skin cancers; however, Dr. McCrary has the expertise to diagnose the areas to predict the possibility of the growth of diseased cells. She will recommend ongoing treatment for clearing up that patch immediately and for future prevention.
Cysts
An auto-immune reaction, appearing under the skin, usually filled with gas, fine hairs, fluid or other semi-solid materials. Dr. McCrary will treat these growths effectively in the office with painless processes. She will also advise how further cysts can be prevented.
Boils
Typically found in a hair follicle or a gland that has become infected with bacteria. Dr. McCrary can lance these masses, clean the affected area and apply medications that will ensure quick and painless healing. You will find that the former painful area will be clear and healthy going forward.
Hyperhidrosis
Excessive sweating caused by an underlying health condition. This condition can be very embarrassing for some patients. Dr. McCrary offers empathy and a gentle touch when diagnosing the cause of this condition. She will get to the underlying cause and help to alleviate the condition as quickly as possible.
Keloid Scars
A raised scar that comes up on an injury that has healed. These scars can be unsightly if manifesting on an exposed part of the body. Dr. McCrary will recommend various forms of treatment to reduce or remove the scar. She will also advise the possibility of the scar becoming raised again and if there are additional treatments that will help clear the area.
Rosacea
An incurable, chronic condition that causes redness and often small pus-filled bumps on the face. This condition can be uncomfortable and itchy; however even though not curable, Dr. McCrary can treat the skin and offer medications that will help alleviate the redness.
Benign and/or Malignant Lesions
Any abnormal damage or change in the tissue of an organism, usually caused by disease or drama. (Benign = non-cancerous; Malignant = cancerous) Dr. McCrary is experienced and uses up-to-date technology to diagnose lesions. She can recommend treatment or surgery to remove the lesions and have them tested for malignancy. Once a biopsy is diagnosed, Dr. McCrary will offer comfort and treatment to best handle the cure.
